interested to hear what sputnik thinks about the following... is post-emo a thing now? with Foxing and Hotelier last year, and this and TWIABP this year, the emo revival has seemingly been killed off. Ian Cohen wrote about it in his TWIABP review. Thoughts?

post-emo aint a thing. we have post-pop-punk.
the emo revival has always been a loose term so idk what your point about it is. i really honestly do not.

As often as post rock and Emo are paired, I feel like post Emo should be a legitimate term, but whatever. It's just a label.

JWA is a staple drinking song with my friends now. So god damn catchy. Plus it's ironic to sing about being sad and not having booze while being happy and drinking booze!

the average rating for this album is really a misrepresentation...I guess getting featured was a gift and a curse haha. I feel like a lot of the people who rated this album poorly aren't too familiar with the whole emo scene...oh well it's still one of my favorite releases of this year so far

there was discussion in a different thread about whether or not bad lyrics can ruin an otherwise good album.
they can.
this grew off on me so hard.

This album is pretty great, for some reason it keeps me coming back to it. It's just the right length and catchy.

"there was discussion in a different thread about whether or not bad lyrics can ruin an otherwise good album."
yeah they definitely can. if the musics good ill try to look past the lyrics if theyre subpar, but some albums i just cant listen to because the lyrics make me cringe.

I think I just listened to this album at precisely the right time. I was a little down but not like out right depressed, I was craving some new music, and it was the first sort of overcast day of the fall, and it just sort of hit the right spot. I still think it's very enjoyable, but had I listened to this any other time it probably wouldn't have been something I spent much time with. Just good (of a certain) mood music.

yeah this album i jam all the time honestly. I can see why people fault it but I love the lyrics and the jazzy vibes

Agreed. Great on the way home from work or on a weekend afternoon. That kind of thing for me. But really does the trick when I'm in the mood for it.

I still jam Jasper Wildlife Assoc. with my friends when we're smoking together. This album has some staying power, no lie. It'll probably make my top 10 albums of the year list.
