THE LESS I KNOW THE BETTER is a great summer song.

I don't get the sad vibe from this album at all... I get a "fuck it, life keeps going" vibe.

"The closing song rules"

Agreed. But There were a couple of lyrics that made me cringe on that one.

i mean this is like happy music for sad people, but it's still pretty wounded for the most part

i can barely sing along with any of the lyrics on here without thinking to myself that i can't relate to this at all

Kevin said it's not a break up album

He said it is called Currents because it is about the ever flowing path we have to go through and can't change

Or something like that

yeah, the whole helpless vibe is exactly what i'm talking about. i don't feel helpless in life and i don't vibe with kevin's indifference toward everything.

Ahh okay. I connect with his introvert awkwardness so much.

@death It's about trying to go against the currents pushing you through life

Life is moving, can't you see?

There's no future left for you and me

"Definitely not about going against the currents, but like steering down with them."

You're right. I was just looking at the cover art and that's what popped up.

Idk. I don't get a sad vibe from this album at all regardless of what it's supposed to be about. If anything, I find it shiny, happy to a fault.

I didn't pay a ton of attention to the lyrics, so you could be right, but what I did pick out seemed mostly optimistic.

i don't mind the juxtaposition between happiness and sadness in an album (of montreal is my favorite band after all), but i'm just getting something close to sadness on both fronts here. nothing is excessively sad i'm just saying i'm not really relating to it much apart from the fact that the music is good.

This is pretty much everything I expected it to be after hearing the singles. Not disappointed at all. Except I didn't expect there to be a song as bad as Past Lives but that's the only real weak point for me.

I've always considered myself more of a Pond fan than a Tame Impala fan but I've gotta say, although I liked Pond's release this year a lot, this beats it quite quite comfortably.
