Aw I like nymphetamine and thornography. Even Godspeed has its moments. Darkly and Manticore each had a few decent songs too.

so i listened to a few singles and this would be marginally better without the awful cheesy female vocals

You guys are funny with the PL comparisons... Of course you can call this a better comeback, PL never actually had a bad album, just very different ones, while CoF have been having issues with their own style for quite some time and this fixes it.

If you think this is bland compared to the 3 albums that came before it then you're on drugs.

Guilty.

But I almost haven't heard the 3 previous ones, just enough to not listen again.

Fucking hell, just looked at Fozzie's ratings, I swear there's more 1s than 5s...
Do you actually enjoy listening to music or hiding behind snidy hyperbole?

I might be looking at this more favourably considering the standard of the last few records - I still enjoy it and still think it's very good, but I might have been a little overexcited!

I've only ever heard a few tracks from this band and consequentially wrote them off years ago. The video for Born in a Burial Gown is comedy gold for one. However, the widely positive reception for this album has me curious about giving them a second go ^^.

Allender's departure initially left me iffy about the band's future, but it paid off.

Eh, not based on his skills, rather how members would take it considering he's been with them a while.
