Start by listening to either this or the debut in a rainy autumn day completely focused on the music.
This band is up there with the Top Tier Atmospheric Black league for me.

I’m not gonna lie I listened to the entire album tonight and I think what I dislike is just feels like there is an awkward clash between the black metal tropes and the post-rock elements. It’s too carefully written, too ‘put together’ and reliant on post-rock experimentation to have the right energy or spirit for black metal, and the black metal side is too atmospheric and grim to allow the sort of creative and deconstructed features of post rock to work properly. It ends up sounding like a cross between Isis and Falls of Rauros, which is just a bit weird and unsatisfying
