Eh, I kinda see what you mean, but at the same time, it's almost an aesthetic like in any other sort of music, ya know?

I get where you're coming from as to questioning why that would be an appealing concept though.

yeah i get the aesthetic i just don't really see how it reflects in the music esp where metal (harsh unintelligible vocals) are concerned. But i can sort of understand how even just the label would appeal toward someone who is christian and somewhat pious.
Shit like Underoaths' debut is unlistenable to me though ('JESUS CHRIST I LOVE YOU!' repeated over and over) but admittedly that's a bit less subtle than other christian music

There's still a handful of good songs you can take away from this. I think the albums worst offense is the banal choruses. Lots of songs start off pretty promising before they wear you down by the end. It doesn't help that this album is pretty front loaded either. (break my fall hook is pretty cool tho)

Listened earlier. Good songs are: first 2/3rds of so cold, break my fall, forget it, and away.

bow-bow-bowmmmm....

Seems like an alright way to end the song, but fair enough.

I'd cut out the last minute. That chorus after the solo feels like a good way to end it but then it just keeps going. It's fine regardless, I don't think it's awful. I think I like firefly too actually.

I see what you're saying, it could definitely work that way. Firefly is solid yeah

Need to revisit though, haven't jammed in a long time.

I got the weirdest urge to jam then lately since I listened to that new single. Phobia is still a really consistent album and will probably remain their peak but I'll give the new album a listen regardless. And how can you like rain?

Yeah same, Phobia is also my fav but I really dug Dear Agony as well. Def interested in the upcoming album.

Dunno, I just recall that I really liked Rain when I first heard it, thought it was an interesting transformation of the nursery rhyme. What's wrong with it?

Fair dues. I just found it too plain and an odd choice to end on an album. Forget it was the better ballad I thought.
