The bass and the guitar are tuned to the same pitch on this album, and I think they're also being run through the same effects chains. Some people like it, I guess, but I'm not a huge fan even though I like this album a lot.

for me, the best production you can give to a bass (not to say the only one) is one in which you can actually hear its notes playing on its own

I suppose that's a big factor on why bass players are underapreciated. The general rule seems to be that you just won't even notice that there's a bass on an album

The golden rule in modern metal is "fuck the bass" after all

For a couple of seconds at the start it sounded like you typical modern pop shit

But yeah, it's pretty cool. Vocals rule and the synth grew a lot on me, which is great because eerie synths on such a heavy band is my favorite thing about these guys

That was def better than the previous single. Sounding a bit like Neurotech during the chorus though haha.

Seriously. They're apparently really not good at intros. Even the first single started off super meh and then suddenly got good.

I also definitely like that the new album is already more diverse than the last one. Inmazes gets a bit repetitive because of it's lack of variation from song to song. A mellow tune like this would've really pushed it over the top.

Stray the Skies tho

I agree on the repetitive nature of this one though. A more varied sound will definitely be a big plus in the new album. And then again, I think more protagonism to the synths definitely helps a lot with that

"Stray the Skies tho"

Only cos it was the chorus section. And Vola is really good at writing choruses.
