well I don't how home invasion and no regrets is an excuse to add a prog rock jam in the middle of the album. In my mind, it doesn't suit the theme and ruins the atmosphere that the first 5 tracks made so well

It's definitely a tonal shift, but I'm quite fond of the chorus on Home Invasion.

Yea the album probably needed variation, though yea the first bunch of tracks are stellar. The later tracks of the album are also highlights. Id say home invasion and regret 9 although good probably the weaker tracks

I'd say that there was plenty of variation with the first 5 tracks, with the prog rocky Three Years, the electronic based Perfect life, pop rock, t/t and more art rock for Routine.
IMO, it didn't need regret and invasion

Too much prog BS here. No fluid ideas, just one segment after another and time changes and shit. Too much BS. I need simpler music.
Honestly, I don't understand all of this "eclectic" stuff. Wilson should just listen to some top 40 to learn how to make a better album.
Parts of this sound like 70s sitcom AOR intro music or something. Sheesh.
