Just over 10 months later I'm still digging this album, I know many won't agree with me but for me it's their best since Through the ashes of Empires.



Ghosts will haunt my bones, Sail into the black and Damage inside are now among my favourite MH tracks. Now we die, In comes the flood and Beneath the silt are decent too.



I do usually skip Night of the long knives and Take me through the fire which is a little weak for an MH closer (far better than 'who we are' though) !

Robb Flynn has never shyed away from cheesy lyrics but it's like x1000000 on here

Are these guys fun live?

Got tickets to see them for christmas, but the only album I've heard was Unto the Locust, which I enjoyed, but I never feel like stomaching The Blackening or Burn In My Eyes because it just sounds so samey in comparison.

Came back to this recently and i'm enjoying it more than i did when it was released, still think it could do with being a couple of songs shorter though. It's like they recorded all the tracks and then just went "fuck it! Just put everything on the album" without exercising any form of quality control.

100% agreed. Beneath the Silt especially is such a monstrous jam; to me it's the standout track here.

Honestly this album is pretty legit. "Beneath the Silt" is like top 3 Machine Head song for me. Shame they're getting horrible again lately.

Too generic and no heaviness. Got to have heaviness to go with the groove, man. Further not optimistic due to Robb saying this album has rapping and could've been a follow up record Burning Red. lol
