Sansa could write a good pop album. Quite positive.

The way people feel the need to defend their hatred of pop, even when nobody is asking, never ceases to amaze me. Every genre has its own measuring stick. What makes a pop album good is entirely different from what makes an indie or metal album good. 4.3 is just a number, people. A value I assigned to accompany what I wrote about the record. I stand by it.

I agree with that.
Stannis could write a death metal song

I imagine that the cross section of people dismissing this album and the population of people who are very passionate about #gamergate and the integrity of gaming journalism are very much aligned

Sea do you like this album? Knowing how you felt about her in the past makes me curious...
|
| |
You know I generally like her past stuff, right?
|
| |
I don't feel all too strongly one way or the other on this album.
I've only listened to it once; I like the direction she's taken and I like the aesthetic of the album, generally.
The way it usually works is I get attached to her by honing in on one or a few of the singles that really catch my attention.
Not a huge fan of "Shake it Off," so I'm kinda waiting to see which single(s) catch my eye from this release.
... but that doesn't really happen when I'm listening to the album by myself, studying haha.
Heading up to PSU this weekend though, maybe it'll be jamming all over, there.

i haven't decided on this album yet but i think it is very silly that everyone is lauding this as her genuine coming out of the POP moment when um Red was so incredibly poppy c'mon
if anything 1989 is a more narrow version of Swift's pop angle than Red (which for the record I wasn't a huge fan of outside of "State of Grace" which is one of her best songs)

Ok this is a gazillion times better than Red
nice
|
| |
did you read that article on Grantland, Klapper?
it concurs with ur opinion
|
| |
Yeah, Red was almost void of country influence (from what I heard). I was confused by people saying this was her first popstar album as well.
