Even the riffs sound robotic at times. Only increases the level of menace.

The whole thing is mechanical. I think the electronic beats/ambience/robot drums all work together fairly well to create a non-human atmosphere. What's darker and colder than a steel automaton?

What's funny is how much industrialized bm there is out there and half of you guys would turn-up your noses at it because it isn't called Darkspace.

Had to wait like 10 minutes for blast beats

I liked the drums on III a lot more because while they were still sounding artificial and programmed, they were mixed lot lower, more in the background along with vocals, and then the music sounded more dense and massive. like all that blasting in the background just helped in creating a huge wall of sound, it suited their theme a lot better imo

Agreed. Only listened to this once so far but the production is already a bit strange. I'm just not preferring the overall sound, but the increased electronics are cool

This is so clean in comparison to III, and it's drawn out much longer as well
Not sure if I like it

Yeah I hear you guys, I like the more cleaned up sound, I can see it being off putting though. And Wiz I've heard other industrialized BM before. I don't like any of it as much as this because none of it as a good as this. Pysclon Nine is pretty tight.

Holy fuck, this is great.
|

yeah this is super bland and boring
the last fell voices album is a better example of how to do this kind of thing just actually good

I actually really liked the claustrophobic sound of III and this drags on way, WAY longer than it needs to. Deserves more listens though
|
| |
yeah this is a single motif dragged out for more than an hour

Aggravating that 4.19 didn't do anything with itself other than sound atmospheric

It's a badass motif though.

I get the complaints about the clearer production, but I always felt that II and III sounded claustrophobic and choking in its production and atmosphere, which is quite a contrast to the space theme itself.

their first album is best tbh

"choking on its production"
Like the vacuum of space, eh?
I'm usually all for clean production, but i just think it sounds bad here. there also isn't that much black metal going on
|
| |
Choking as in it sounds very dense. III was like a collision course in an asteroid field aurally. But this is fucking MASSIVE

Well, it's definitely more spacey than III but I just preferred how black III is in comparison to this. The more ambient feel to it doesn't appeal to me at all when it's this repetitive
