I got into In Flames with Clayman. From there, I explored their back catalogue (Whoracle being a personal favourite) and listened to and enjoyed everything up to, and including, Come Clarity. A Sense Of Purpose and Sounds Of A Playground Dying were major missteps, but even they had some redeeming moments - Abnegation from ASOP and Sounds Of A Playground Fading's title track.
But this? It doesn't sound like any effort has gone into the songwriting, and Anders is just phoning it in. His vocals are worse than they've ever been. Even the odd occasion in which he breaks into harsh vocals is just laughable. I honestly can't believe this is the same vocalist who sang Moonshield. What's ridic is the decline of a band who were once the pioneers of an entire metal subgenre being reduced to *this*.
