"If 90's LaBrie sang this, and the production was better, this would be between a 4 and a 5. Songwriting is excellent here."

So, it's a 1.5 despite the actual content of the album being good? Seems legit.

I did. Cos I had to listen to Dominici's singing far more than any human should have to over the course of the argument. xD

Yeah because the content of the record doesn't mean much when the singer and production are both awful.

You have a better argument for the production than the vocalist and even then, this production job is preferable to pretty much everything from '99 onward.

Imagine how good this album would have been with a singer who can hit the notez.

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/charlie-dominici-being-in-dream-theater-was-a-slave-gig-to-me/

Dominici himself admits that the vocals on the record are out of his range and he struggled with them, which should be obvious to pretty much everyone, and yet people still arguing that the vocals on this are a masterclass.

Yea, too many singers write lines that are too high for them

Yeah, it's one thing to hit a note under controlled conditions in a studio when you have 10 tries to get it right. It's another thing to do it on a stage 10-15 years later in one try.

But it's much worse when you can't even hit the notes in the studio.

No one’s saying it’s masterclass, but I definitely feel like his performance is underrated and not nearly as bad as you claim even though they had pretty severe limitations when recording the album.

That part about his vocal range is interesting. A lot of bands definitely do that i bet

& Dang. After he left dream theater he went into finance and owned a car dealership. What a life

He’s done music since then, various guest spots here and there and well as three albums under the name Dominici. Can’t comment on their quality though, I haven’t heard much of them
