Undersea is still the best thing theyve ever done imo.

I love Undersea, but I feel it's slightly homogeneous. That's why I love BA - it is more eclectic than their other works but it still functions together dynamically.

Burst Apart is definitely more diverse but i wouldnt say Undersea is homogenous, i feel like each song has its own mood.

Ya. Undersea is as good as Burst apart.

Did you listen to this album only once or something?

Yeah maybe homogeneous isn't the right word, but there's definitely more diversity in BA

Ya I can agree with that. Hounds, ENMTAFO, and PTDTS are some of their best.

i've listened to this album 4 times. i find it painfully slow-moving and dreary

every night is not one of my favourite antlers songs. not even close. i don't want love, hounds, and putting the dog to sleep sure are though

No love for Parentheses?
And yeah, Putting the Dog to Sleep is top-5 antlers material IMO

Ya that's awesome too and French Exit

this is some beautiful music, but it doesn't have the same heart and soul as burst apart imo, and many moments are boring to sit through (doppelganger is 7 minutes of this)

I can see that, but I find the build up to be the big thing here. Makes me come back and discover new things every time.

True I def do
And this album is indeed slow - "loungy" has been a popular word - but it is just so beautifully arranged. I don't even know how to put it in a way that does it justice. Silberman's vocals hit all the peaks at the right times, the instrumentals shift tempo just enough and transition flawlessly, the tracks are put in perfect order (I wouldn't change a thing), it's just so well done, even if it isn't as intriguing or exciting as past efforts. It's just solid, gorgeous, and soft indie rock.
