no way a pacific rim crossover would happen. the next one will probably just have some toho monsters for godzilla to fight...hopefully

Yeah a crossover would be...strange. Not bad necessarily, but way too many ideas for one move, even if it does go for 2 hours +.

Godzilla has had stranger crossovers... I suppose

only crossover I know of was the one with King Kong. think the rest of the "Godzilla VS." movies were against monsters created for that film as a part of the Godzilla franchise

Without having seen Godzilla fight King Kong, I struggle to see how King Kong could possibly win, given the immense size of Godzilla, he's impossibly huge, especially in this movie. Compared to KK who can safely carry a human in his hands like a doll, Godzilla could do the same with a building.

they up'd the size of Kong greatly for it, but also Kong is a fair bit smarter than 'Zilla so that gives him a bit of an edge

don't remember how the movie ended but I believe it was a fairly close fight.

They could do MechaGodzilla well. If after say the 2nd film where he fights someone else (cough Ghidorah) The army could
realize that Godzilla though not evil is still technically not on their side and could turn on them too. Then a bunch of countries
start a joint operation to build something to kill him if that time comes. The movie could take a page from Toho and use the
Godzilla skeleton they found in this movie and use it as a base. This could piss Godzilla off and they have a final showdown.
Also throw in Godzilla beating the shit out of Gigan to still show he's a BAMF.

Well they seem to want to keep this a mature and somewhat realistic franchise and that seems like the most logical way to bring MG in if they wanted to.

I think mechagodzilla would be the only monster that's easy to use in this new universe. Although I don't see the reason for building mechagodzilla, since the new godzilla isn't evil.
