Listening with a lyrics sheet for the first time. It's nice to have some of the lines cleared up.

AHHHH! It seems the reviewer, and I'm afraid most listeners, have understood this album and its theme as a nihilistic treatise. It most certainly is not. It is very hopeful and combative. Protagonist: Demon hunter. Antagonist: Demon. Methinks the interplay between these two is lost on many listeners. "I lost it down a rabbit hole" is not resignation, but the beginning of a long and strange trip of the protagonist to reconcile his grief and sadness. And he succeeds beautifully in the end. An existential masterpiece. And a story lived throughout history.

Also music is subjective, just stop forcing your connotations, albeit with back up, on us. It can be whatever you make it out to be, not just what your analysis says and what you happen to think this album means
