Album Rating: 2.5
I'll bump up .5, I'm still very bored by this album. I can see some value in it but mostly it seems like background noise to me. The few times it does grab my attention is due to questionable production. If I want something this "high art" which seems to be it's major defense I'll just pull out some Scott Walker or Haxan Cloak. If I'm going to need to pay this much attention to an album I'd rather the payoff be much bigger. No disrespect JT I gave it more than I would give most. ;-)

"is this high art what is high art"
Just heading off the "it's not for you" or "you just don't get it" bullshit, you know Sea/Eric type arrogance.
"omni ur great but this album captures my attention v well maybe try again in a few months did you dig"
You could be right, I never mind accepting that I may just be wrong.

Only if you're a fan.
But seriously how do you not at least dig on the guest list?
1. David Byrne - I Don't Remember
2. Bon Iver - Come Talk to Me
3. Regina Spektor - Blood of Eden
4. Stephin Merritt - Not One of Us
5. Joseph Arthur - Shock the Monkey
6. Randy Newman - Big Time
7. Arcade Fire - Games Without Frontiers
8. Peter Gabriel feat. Elbow - Mercy Street
9. Brian Eno - Mother of Violence
10. Feist feat. Timber Timbre - Don't Give Up
11. Lou Reed - Solsbury Hill
12. Paul Simon - Biko
6 is amusing as shit.

That's fair enough. Personally I don't really have to pay much attention to enjoy this, it's easy for me to get immersed in its atmosphere.
Nothing disrespectful about anything you've said, I'm aware that this album's style is probably more my cup of tea than it is yours.
