so i'm guessing the feature means dev won't actually review this then?

There's no correlation between the two.

this is a well-written review, but I feel like we should have waited for one that more accurately reflects the general opinion of the site for a feature. I'm hoping Dev comes out of hibernation for this one.
I'm loving the aesthetic here, the techno beatzzzzzz, and also the constantly shifting, never-settling dynamic. Eerie stuff.

this guy is such an amazing producer. He impresses every time. I honestly feel a little sorry for people that don't like this and act out against it like it's their duty to or something.

like, they want so badly to criticize it so they'll say whatever comes to mind.
YES
But that happens all the time

Still awaiting a positive review actually.
I mean, I really like the idea of him shifting towards a more happy R&B influenced style, but frankly the beats on here sound so flat and the sounds aren't developed like they could be. This could have been so much better. Fyi, I have T/RS as a 3.5 because, while it's also kind of patchy and not flowing, it's fucking well-produced.

clerc what do you think about the first half of Come Down To Us?

I really like the part starting from 7min in. It's the only moment on the EP where he nails the new sound, imo; brilliant stuff. The first part is just meh. The beats are flat, the autotune is horrible, it's cringeworthy tbh.

Damn that's really interesting. I think the first half of that track is probably the best thing he's ever done.
And yeah if no one else writes a positive review about this I will, but it's one of those things that I would find hard to put into words properly, so I wanna hold out for a bit and see if someone like Dev will review it before putting in the work.

Can't be the best thing he's ever done while Etched Headplate, Fostercare, Ashtray Wasp and the first part of Truant (I'm starting to appreciate that one more and more recently) exist.
Just write it man. It'll be a great review, judging from your other work. :]

it would be really painful if Burial made anti-bullying tunes and the only reviews here are negative :S

See man those are 3 of my absolute favorite tracks of his and they're absolutely incredible (all would be 5/5 for me), but yeah I do think CDTU is better. From the first time I heard that beginning section I just didn't want it to ever end.
I was hoping to hear back from Dev on whether or not he's reviewing this because, assuming he digs it, I know he would be able to capture it better than me. But I might just have to jump on it. I really appreciate that last comment, thanks.
