I saw these guys live once but I bailed about 3 or 4 songs in. They were the headliner of a huge festival near where I live and their concert was at 12:00 I think. I'd been listening to concerts all afternoon and evening and I was too exhausted to even stay awake so I went back to the hotel.

Needless to say I'm feeling huge regrets about that right about now. RIP, Chester.

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here?

So if you're asking me
I want you to know

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Don't be afraid
I've taken my beating
I've shared what I've made
I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect
But neither have you

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave Out All The Rest
Leave Out All The Rest

Forgetting all the hurt inside
You've learned to hide so well
Pretending someone else can come
And save me from myself
I can't be who you are

Chester and Linkin Park have been important band for many youngsters. Hybrid Theory is still a great album. RIP

"Pushing Me Away" was one of my favorite songs from this album, and boy was it a different feeling to hear it with the recent news.

Lesser known LP song that feels relevant right now:

The remix version is also very good.

all praise to the band, the album, and your review,

BUT

LP wasn't really an "outcast" musical choice in high school and junior high. To my memory, EVERYONE was listening to them, before we started branching out to more alternative/mature stuff in our later teens. I think the band's album sales would testify well enough to that.
