Yeah this review is a bit too bias. Got the point across well though, nice one!

"the only reviewers who should be eligible to review an album negatively would be reviewers who liked a past album, which is absurd"
I just disagree with the whole STAFF REVIEW TAKES FRONT SEAT quality-control concept on a website dedicated to decentralized user reviews.
Shouldn't the best reviews rise to the top by their merit rather than WHO wrote them?

I'd love to get a hold of this site's guts, I have so many ideas for it.

Well in the defense of those dude they usually do write better reviews more than 90% of the time over users. Granted I do agree that their are much better reviews for this, and there did need to be a negative review for this. Just was not all that great by Staff standards. I fact not many released today were.

you're doing that thing where you just totally switch the argument, but uhh...
who are you to say what the site is dedicated to?
the staff are user reviewers, too, they're just highlighted among other users because of the consistency and quality of their writing
if you want to blame anyone for this problem which you've started whining about instead of addressing what I've said, I'd argue it'd make much more sense to complain about the users who will blindly accept another's opinion without thinking critically themselves but this whole thing is kinda besides any point at all which is kinda your point I guess
and re: the best rising to the top
that's the exact mentality of the staff, dude. not sure how your point differs

Um guys, Stop making stupid assumptions and actually learn a little thing about the site you're using.
In all cases, if any album has a staff or contributor review, that review will be marked as the default one. HOWEVER, if anyone decides that they'd prefer another review to be the default one, all they need to do is request that that particular review be the default one. And the mods approve that request about 95% or so. Seriously. Stop being so butthurt.

Who owns this site anyway? I get the feeling someone just collects the ad money and lets it run itself

Don't even need a degree to live off of website revenue, just a good idea and some developer know-how.
|
| |
no; there's a guy named Jeremy who created the site but he (I don't think) makes anything off of the site really
he went to MIT and did some photography stuff

The pos/neg system should be reinstated for staff and the review with the most positive feedback should be featured.
