personally I dig it when bands use their creativity to go forward even though it may fall flat and/or

alienate some of the fans. it's pretty ballsy really.

I prefer electronic/ambient Ulver to black metal Ulver personally. That has more to do with my personal taste than the quality of output in those respective eras of the band.
