lol wiz i have heard enough blackgaze to know how good this is. no other band sounds like this though, tbh. this doesn't even sound like a metal record.

Gonna be seeing them in Philly again July 1st, will be the 3rd time. Can't wait.

Saw them with Rosetta and Russian Circles last time, don't need to tell anyone how that show was...

After the show when they were selling merch before Rosetta went on, I was talking to George for a few minutes, the nicest guy out there, really down to earth and he seemed taken aback by how much I and everyone at the venue was loving their music, almost like it was a surprise to him.

yeah the first time i saw them i spoke to him briefly before the show because we both were having trouble figuring out where the venue was. good people in this band.

I think it's good that people are starting to get over the fact that Deafheaven just do things differently with BM. Weather you agree with their style or image and way of going about making this type of music their own, people just need to chill the fuck out. Appreciate it for what it is, not what it changes. If you don't dig it, to each their own. No need for bashing anymore.

Side note: Can't wait for the new Rosetta album coming later this year as well, seen/met them over 5 times and can't say enough about those guys as well.

I like the review, hit pretty much all the points I was thinking of while listening to this. It is hard to describe how this album somehow pulls off feeling warm and uplifiting but it kind of does.

it totally does. the chords and melodies they use are super melodic and pretty most of the time. its just carried out in an agressive way
