I think the new album is gonna be a nostalgia fueled 3.5.

I'm optimistically saying it'll be a nostalgia fuelled 3.8 (so a 4).

I've grown to like the singles. Still hyped. Doesn't come out until fucking May though, right? hopefully they give us one more taste before it drops.

The singles are still a little underwhelming for me, but here's hoping they feel better in the context of the full album. At the very least, I'm pretty sure they still put on a great live show. Saw them last year and it was beautiful.

'The singles are still a little underwhelming for me'

Yeah, they didn't amaze me or anything, but I had pretty low expectations.

I miss Cedric's aggressive vocals he had here. The new songs lack the same punch these tracks had

Governed by Contaigons was a decent jam, I didn't dislike the other one either. I'm hopeful.

Jim Ward is cool, but he hasn't been doing any aggressive vox anywhere lately, has he? Isn't Sleepercar pretty tame?

And not to mention that out-of-nowhere-and-never-followed-up-on single Sparta put out a few years back was fucking terrible, so maybe it's for the best that he's not involved at this point.

I see your point dbizzles, but I feel like a lot of the projects the other members have done lately haven't been that aggressive, or amazing either, and yet they are still coming together to do at-the drive in

Jim Ward was one of my favorite members and imo played a big part in their sound.

I the vox, keyboards and a tight as hell rhythm section he brought to the table
