I imagine if this album came out with a black cover littered with upside down crosses and all the A’s in Farrah’s name were changed to triangles, we’d be having a different, way less interesting conversation surrounding My Teenage Dream Ended. But because it is an oddity without attempting to be one, an outlier that sprung into existence without any censorship, a pure, totally unfiltered expression of consciousness without any recognizable thought given to how the exterior world would perceive it, it has deceptively tremendous value.

This. But seriously though, these clashing schools of thought fascinate me; the differences between an organic cognitive dissonance like what ushers forth from this album, and that fostered by kids trying to make satirical jests at mainstream..

It is. If James Blake sang over it people would call it a classic.
No really, it was stuck in my head all yesterday.

i find the question of whether or not we, the audience, can through pure force of will create Great Works of Art (more accurately, whether we can turn any work of art into a Great one) but im reticent about categorizing downer/tmt's review of this as just "man couldnt u say this about any bad album"

this may be a bad album but it is not Any Bad Album. definitely more interesting than most other bad albums; seems to beg for engagement on a different level, given how out-of-this-world bad it is

anyways

Its funny because the beats will fade in to each other seamlessly at some points and other times she makes the most abrupt transitions. Its interesting to listen to because it sounds like she has no idea what she's doing and then ten second later she has a somewhat decent grasp on it. As far as the auto-tune goes, people have clearly not heard Flava Flav's "I'll never let you go(?)". Although its digitally altered her voice itself doesn't "interfere" with the tuning, if that makes sense. I mean her voice is naturally high being a girl and it sounds more pleasing than a vocode deep masculine voice.
