Taree is one of the best songs they wrote since Superunknown. Has that 'Fell on Black Days' and 'Overfloater' vibe that suits Cornell's voice. They should stick to this kind of mood for their next record.

Personally I have it roughly the reverse of that (first 5 tracks are pretty good, last 8 bar "Halfway There" are SG on top of their game), but eh, different strokes for different folks

Really? For the the first 7 (possibly bar #1) are near-perfect songs, the riffs and drumming are so damn tight and the atmosphere is great, really fits the artwork.

The rest of the tracks, especially Halfway There just feel like fairly mainstream rockers, or are boring. Worse Dreams isn't bad though

Yeah, DOTU's weakness is definitely the 3rd quarter. With this I'm not too sure, need to jam a couple more times to assess properly.

This could've been much better, but it's okay for what it is.
Haven't jammed in nearly 2 months though, so maybe my opinion might change later on.

this album reminds me of AiC's Black Gives Way... another flawed, but awesome comeback album. the good outweighs the bad and I'll never say no to more Soundgarden or AiC
