Shine On is one song. Gilmour wanted it to play in its entirety, but Waters insisted that it be separated for the sake of his album-as-a-concept.

This album is truely epic and should be ranked up with the best of the '70s.

Love this album. I need to expand my Floyd. Already got this, The Wall, and Animals. Guess I should see all the fuss with Dark Side.

Will be listening to this in its entirety tonight in dedication to Rick Wright. This is definitely the best Pink Floyd album by far.

WYWH owns The Wall. Does it own DSOTM? Thats debatable. Does it own Animals? BARELY!

This album moves me in some sort of way I cant explain.

the reviewer writes

3. Have A Cigar - Another attack on the music industry, but a little less harsh... this is faced more torwards the press. One of the lines, "By the way/ Which one's Pink?", is a joke about the time an uninformed interviewer thought Pink Floyd was the name of an actual member. The music is more upbeat, the chorus is amazingly uplifting, and the guitar is great throughout. A decent solo as well. The end section is a little boring, and the end leads directly into the next track by turning into radio noise. Nothing really wrong with this track, either. 4.5/5

actually this song is faced towards the record company executives.read the lyrics again and you will see it.

come on here dear boy have a cigar you're gonna go far/the band is just fantastic that is really what i think oh by the way which one is pink ?

this is the greedy,soul-less executive speaking who only sees a dollar in front of him pretending to be their friend when he has no clue who these musicians really are.

SoYcD is aboyt SYD (caps tell the truth)

great album but still animals is waaaaaay better

imo best pf albums are

1.animals

2.wish

3.the wall

4.dark side

and welcome to the machine is meant to be creepy.this is the whole meaning of the song.this claustophobic sense that everything is pre-arranged for you without you

and i will repeat it again.in my mind any review which does a track-by-track analysis is dorky and shouldn't be taken seriously into consideration.

this is music, this is feeling, this is soul.it is not science,it is not maths,it is not statistics.

have some acid, free your mind a bit from the robotic procedures planted in you.nothing ok in being robotic.

your assertion that the reviewer should "have some acid" did no credit to what was otherwise a sound argument

always good to have another floyd fan around though who actually knows the intricate details of the band's history. they have one of the most interesting stories to tell out of all bands i think
