What? I agree with you, On the Road, isn't that great of a book. Kerouac only has the presence of being the most well known "beat" writer because his work was easily palatable to successive generations as more of a quick time capsule but an empty one at that. His writing lacks the thought that was most important to the movement and only showcases the tip of the iceberg as far as the movement went.
