Oh, this is a good one. Finally checking. Excited to see where this will lead. Certainly better than Blodhemn already

I agree with April 25 me:

"This is so good. I can't even. It's nicely chaotic and majestic and I love it. Opener says it all. And Entrance - Escape."

OH.

It's my fave Enslaved even.

All Enslaved is excellent. Not a single bad album in a very long discog. This one is very good indeed, I could 4'5 at some point

Sort of, the first six below are at least very good and I don’t like the last two much at all…

Eld / Axioma > Viking / Frost / Below / Isa > Ruun / Vertabrae / Blodhemn > RIITTIIR / Utgard

This (so far) is in the Isa realm. Good start

Niiice. I totally get that ranking. Need to revisit Eld though, remember the opener being amazing.

Imagine having 16 LPs out, none of them close to being even avg. Even their worst albums are good. Top 5 bands of all time these guys

They have for me, and not just in metal, I would argue in music in general. Only Rush comes to my mind when I think about bands with a discog of 10+ LPs as consistently good as Enslaved's. I'm open for other examples because I've listened to so many albums in my life that my hard drive is saturated with info and I may be missing many names

Yeah, I think this has something. I might already prefer it to a few of their later ones for sure. I like that it retains the rawness of their early sound whist upping the prog. Similar to Eld in that respect, although perhaps this takes things even further. Possible discog highlight brewing? Perhaps.

Their whole discog is a hightlight tbh lol. I gotta jam this one again soon. All the recent bumpage made me realize its been way too long. So much great music, not enough time men.

Nah but why are there such massive mixing failures in this record... This deserves a remix for sure, the cymbals and guitars really sound like ass.

Really very much disagree. It sounds perfect to me, nice and sharp and direct and aggressive and chaotic.

Perhaps your audio system has a dip exactly where the harsh cymbal and guitar sound is haha
