Yeah, VIII is just ridiculous, which is saying quite a bit when talking about a Final Fantasy game.

The whole "We all lived together in an orphanage but forgot!" plot point is so stupid, it hurts. The love story feels shoehorned in, since Squall does not give 2 craps about Rinoa until she falls into a coma, then he realizes how much he really loves her.

And I like to call Disc 3 an explosion of random **** because it all comes out of nowhere and makes no sense. Lunatic Pandora? The Lunar Cry? Laguna as Esthar President? And that scene in the Ragnarok... just... ugh. The whole game spins out of control very quickly, and not in a compelling way, IMO

Disc 3 was absolute lunacy, there's no way around denying that.

I agree the orphan storyline was little hard to swallow. The love story however was amazing, didn't feel shoehorned one bit. Him realizing he loved her when she was in a coma is just Squall's character as a whole, he doesn't realize stuff until it's almost too late. The orphan thing was the only thing that was like "wut?". All the relationship that weave into Squall's life are fantastic.

That tune when you discover Ellone on a ship and she's taken away by the bad guys, that's one of the best pieces Nubuo ever wrote IMO, and it's just ambient strings

Oh, it definitely has amazing music. And I know I made it sound like I was crapping all over the game, but I still enjoy it, haha. It's probably closer to the bottom of my list though.

Anyways, in terms of THIS album... Terra's theme is my jam. The orchestral version of it is awesome.

Man, now I want to replay a bunch of the FF games. I need to finish my playthrough of Legend of Legaia first though.

Shadow's theme is probably my favourite character theme from all final fantasy

I know people talk a lot obout FF remakes, but I cringe to think what this game would be like with voice acting.

VII will probably be tolerable, but I could imagine VI being way too campy.

A modern interpretation of an old SNES game would warrant adapting the dialog. A lot of these older games understood that they were video games, whereas modern gaming represents a more life-like medium.

I would be worried they'd mess around with Kefka too much. They'd probably turn him into some sort of tragic villain, rather just an absolutely insane madman, which would completely ruin his character.
