Every time I go back to American Idiot I am left in awe. The new Green Day albums are good but they sound like b-sides compared to this album. For a Green Day fan this is the thick, deep, juicy steak out of the band's discography.

If Green Day had just stopped after this album, they would've had such a better reputation to go out on. imo one of their best albums

save my ears. Good fucking christ. The only reason this isn't a 1 is because it was the first CD I ever owned.

the best pop/"punk" album ever made.... however I don't know if that's a pretty big achievement

Listened to this obsessively in high school when it was released. Checked it out again for the first time in at least three years the other day....was immediately embarrassed for myself and deleted it off my iTunes.

Of all the albums I've heard that criticized the Bush presidency, this is by far the sloppiest and least thoughtful. It actually almost makes me feel a slight twinge of sympathy towards Bush and corporate America......almost.

But yeah, this is like the Michael Moore of albums.

This album also provided perhaps the most unintentionally hilarious musical moment I've witnessed.....Green Day, playing songs from this album that supposedly bashes corporate America's soullessness and excess........AT THE FUCKING SUPER BOWL! lololololololol!

What a bunch of hypocritical fuckwads.
