"Dude what's your avatar??"
Hot chick riding a teddy bear "Cow Girl".
I know, hot right?

I'd rather say you'll get a shiny glittery dress of the color of your choosing. It will be so shiny it will blind your enemies, so that should work as compensation.

This thread is going to become awful, isn't it?

I don't know, the lyrics were wonderful but the composition-half of the songwriting on Far just
appeared rushed and lacking in effort to me.

I don't get that from Far at all. But, opinions.
After a second listen I can say that I feel as though this might be her weakest effort yet, but we'll see. Current ranking:
Songs
Far
Soviet Kitsch
Begin to Hope
11:11
What We Saw From the Cheap Seats
Still feeling about a 4 for this though

Not that good at formulating them either, but I'll say that All the Rowboats is everything I missed in Far.
I'm expecting this to grow quite a bit on me, though. And I can't believe no one's mentioned the Nina Simone shout-out yet.

i don't understand how something could be given a classic rating when it's only been out for... hell, it's not even officially out yet. i'm not trying to discredit your review or anything, i haven't even listened to this, but this seems a bit hyperbolic.

We've already been over this. 5 doesn't necessarily mean classic.

Tyr what would your ranking look like. And aubergine (my darling) it's just a personal rating. The review itself isn't overly hyperbolic. And I don't think he's necessarily calling it a "classic", just giving it 5/5

i haven't read the whole thread maniac, so sorry if it has already been brought up.
alright aids darling, point taken. i'm just saying for me, when i rate something a 5 it's usually something that has grown on me for years. it would be hard for me to write a 5 review for something so new, but that's just me.
|

and i have to agree with spare and aids that the whole laura stevenson thing has become legitimately creepy. i mean yeah she's cute but that thread is basically 50 pages worth of maniac masturbating over her.

I'll never understand why 99% of Spektor fans consider Soviet Kitsch far and away her best but oh well
And yeah aubergine don't focus too much on the rating. Staff reviews should have the option of not having a rating at the top IMO
darling

Y'know, fellas, staff writers often get albums prior to their release so they can post a review of said album on the day it's released, as opposed to waiting for it to sink in and posting a review days/weeks later. Not saying that's necessarily the case here, but I've seen many users on reviewing sites say, 'It's only been out a day and it gets a 5,' and it's presumptuous and slowly becoming an annoyance to see.
