Been a Manson fan since Antichrist Superstar, I really enjoy the new album but I can't help but imagine the amazing guitar hooks, riffs and solos that John 5 would be churning out in some of the songs. It just feels like there's something missing on the plate. That said, I would really enjoy an album with songs in the vein of "Pistol Whipped", "Children of Cain", and similar songs from other albums like "Wow" and "Para-noir"..... But there needs to be an album with heavier songs like "Hey Cruel World", "No Reflection", "Overneath.." "Monsters Getting Prettier...", "We're from America", anything from Antichrist, etc. Rock a double album like that, charge whatever you want and take my money. New album just has me wanting more. Also, really surprised for the lack of love for Mechanical Animals in this thread. The album is an absolute masterpiece in every way.

Admitting to the nostalgia many have associated with the man? Yes.

"You should link the interview Revolver did with Manson in the top paragraph, as it helps flesh out the tale behind the album ->

Manson likes Gushers...that's either really awesome or really lame

Of course Gushers rule. All I'm saying is fruit snacks kind of clash with the whole rebel/pariah of society image he's going for

I don't think he's going for that image anymore, which is why I agree with Andcas on him having no shock value in him.

He doesn't need to be shocking, he shouldn't be shocking. He WAS a rebel, how much so now depends on how far you look into his life I suppose.

High End Of Low is one of the worst albums I have ever heard. Based on the song titles here, I predict this is at least as bad. I will listen shortly but if this deserves a 3.5 I will allow Twiggy Ramirez the freedom of my anus for a year.

If this is like Mechanical Animals, it may not be my favorite style, but would be far more listenable than his other work. I could
check out some tracks based on this review.

Why do people enjoy this? Does it get better after the first 4 tracks?
