Microgravity def sounds dated to me, this not so much. I feel it can be really difficult to pinpoint what time period a lot of good ambient releases were recorded in. The genre just has a way of flowing.

sounds pretty timeless for me, never really associate it with anything other than winter tundras and underwater research facilities

"never really associate it with anything other than winter tundras"

Have you ever listened to Thomas Koner demi? You might like Permafrost, though it substitutes a lot of melody for texture.

the sound of this is kind of dated, but it's still atmospheric in its own way.

"sounds kind of dated" i can see what you mean, but if anything the old school vibes cator to the music. this album is amazing. it gives me memories of buying an xbox when it came out and playing ssx tricky and other early 2000s games.

phenomenal atmosphere that cuts to the core of the subconscious
