I think an appreciation for the genre would perhaps push some (myself, for example) away from Skrillex. I mean, if you don't have vast knowledge of a particular genre then it's impossible to compare artists to find out what's good and what's gimmicky. I'm not saying that it's not possible for someone to dig this if they're well versed in Dubstep, but I think they'd much sooner find better stuff (in ample quantities) elsewhere.

Yeah I gotta disagree with that Gyro. I know a fair amount of people (myself included, though to a much lesser degree) who can enjoy both styles
