I have trouble comparing the two. This one seems to rely on the same formula for a few of the songs (mostly their drawn-out endings, though they don't really suffer as a result) whereas the new album is a bit more varied in its songwriting.
A lot of these songs would rank higher for me from their catalogue than the new album, though not by much. That's said, I think the new album is more solid and the band has definitely matured and improved overall.
