One Sunday Morning is amazing. The rest of the album is great but lacks standout tracks

Art of Almost is top 10 Wilco material. I Might and One Sunday Morning rule too.

This album is without a doubt the best post-YHF album. It has the best pair of Wilco bookends.

Obsessed with this band lately, they have potential to become one of my favourites everything they do is excellent.

Just heard Open Mind again. Damn, forgot how gorgeous that tune is.

Interesting to see that the new Being There deluxe edition includes an old version of "Capitol City", that song was always obviously a bit out of place here but it makes total sense that it was written in the Being There era.

@Funeralopolis
Currently going through that phase.
I bought YHF a good 10 years ago and liked it. If I was scrolling through my albums looking for something to chuck on, that was a frequent choice. But I never had really 'listened' to it. Finally actually took the time to soak it up and immerse myself in the Wilco universe, the backstories.
I've listened to nothing but Wilco albums for two or three months (well, Tindersticks' debut made a cameo appearance at some point) ...I freaking love them.

The recurring arpeggiated melody in "One Sunday Morning" is sheer bliss - I think I actually just shed a tear over it

Yeah, that one's one of the most beautiful songs ever written if we're being honest. Tbh I kind of always felt like that could have been their career send-off, but hey they're still out there being awesome and I ain't complaning.

^ That and the guitar solo in “Impossible Germany” alone justify Nels Cline’s joining the band.

Okay yeah "Art of Almost" is officially my favorite Wilco album opener, possibly even a top 5 overall tune of theirs

A few nights ago, my dad gave me his CD copy of this album to keep because I've become so much more of a Wilco fan than he ever was (though he does dig them quite a bit) - hasn't left the CD port in my car since.
Early days but:
5/5: Art of Almost
4.5/5: One Sunday Morning > Black Moon > Born Alone
4/5: Rising Red Lung > I Might > Open Mind
3.5/5: Dawned on Me > Whole Love
3/5: Sunloathe > Capitol City > Standing O
Some of these track ratings are probably a bit conservative tbh, one hell of an album.
