Relistening to this again to see if anything's changed.

Reaching Home still has some catchy guitarwork, but the vocal melodies are kinda corny.

haven't jammed this one in forever, I should rectify that. I know it's not as good as what came before but I remember this being solid

First track slams. Really been a long time since I heard this, never really liked this due to the production and vocals but I think I just wasn't used to more raw production back then lol

Looking at this through the lens of 2011 is insane though, this sounds like some sort of 2015 TesseracT rip off in places but that year is when those guys brought out their first full length. Damn this band was so far ahead of the curve

Honestly prefer this to Silhouettes by a slim margin. I think it's incredibly underrated as a prog metal album. Band always had the handicap of being "djent" enough on paper to be in the genre with other artists that released albums that year or the year before/after and were still touring. Textures were relegated as an opener in places that weren't Europe. Bit of a shame, but they're back now and hopefully we get a new album of some cool ass tunes.

Great album tbh. It's... different, but not in a bad way. An excellent addition to their discography.

Wish this had a fatter guitar tone, greater frequency range and less in your face vocals. This with Silhouettes production would be cool to hear.

Agree. Production on this really hindered it. It's definitely better than Phenotype as a whole. ZMAN + Timeless are what really redeem that album to be justifiable, but it does sound much better than Dualism.

Idk, this also has weird song writing choices and it's not that convincing as a whole. I think Phenotype is better for sure, excluding the production

Funny 'cause I think this album has more consistent and sensible writing largely held back by the production. Phenotype for me really just became skipping to ZMAN, but I go back to Dualism for like 5 tracks, pretty regularly:

1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 are all great tracks.

Singularity goed super hard imo, most good stuff is on the back half. But I think Phenotype is more fun and consistent
