this album is growing on me a lot. fucking 7 plays now though lol. i tend to linger on his albums for a while to see if my opinion will change. i think so far the only ones that didn't grow were debut (lol) and pin ups.

fantastic voyage, red sails, look back in anger, dj, and maybe red money are my picks for the best. kind of loving the exotic vibes on this the more i hear it. just a super chill album, even if i don't think individual tracks challenge his best material (maybe look back in anger)

I remember being drunk freshman year of college and singing lyrics to Yassassin over and over cuz I was just getting into Lodger

Fuck, I just unlocked a memory

WAIT and then I made a dude blush when I played Boys Keep Swinging and he heard that one line...shit Lodger was an integral part of my Freshman year lol

Look back in anger is just incredible, might make my top 15 bowie songs when I get around to making the list

Yassassin is a huge track, feeling this as a little good-not-great though

Fantastic voyage, red sails, I am a dj, look back in anger (esp this one), red money and yassassin are all bangers. Hugely underappreciated album, it took me longer than the other Berlin albums to get into tho

‘though really, all his openers are great’

Agreed. This might be my second favorite, though, behind STATION TO STATION.

Station to station and five years are better than fantastic voyage, but it's still a top 3 song here. I'd prob take beauty and the beast and Sunday over it too - 2 incredible, oft overlooked songs

The 2nd half of all Bowie albums that aren’t Station or Low shit the bed, but this is pretty darn good until that point, so it is somewhat forgiven
