(paid) music critics are loving it,though. maybe they are just reaching to find that epic gaga promised them. promo has been (and continues to be) magnificent.

Maybe they're getting backhanders from her record company.

implying every who likes this album is being paid to do it

So how many times did you listen to this, Conrad?

i don't see "born this way" as being about being gay, although it encompasses it. it's more about seizing life.
i've only heard it twice, but it seems pretty similar to Fame Monster, full of hooks, fun and drama.
|

i just heard it in its entirety for the first time
when she's talking about capital HIM, she doesn't mean the finnish guy/band right? the one that bam margera likes a lot and probably daveyboy too

"So how many times did you listen to this, Conrad?"
a good six times front to back and then individual songs to figure out which lines I wanted to highlight

Rating up a smidge. "Judas" and "Government Hooker" are enjoyable, not sure why the latter is getting some flack while shit like "Yoü and I" is getting praised.. guess those are the same folks who found "Speechless" a "welcome step ahead" for Gaga when in fact the Freddie Mercury-aping mawkish bullshit is just an unconvincing look for her

I actually really liked Speechless. It showed off her piano talent and had somewhat non-inane lyrics.

The album is very hit and miss... now i know some GaGa fans call this a "leftfield" album and "experimental". Its neither really. Its a little sad this some people actually brand this as "leftfield", they have absolutely no idea what leftfield music is like. Anyway.
The lyrics are very GaGa, i'm loving all the random accents on the album on the moment. But the album on the whole is very disappointing. There are some good songs here and there, but the album doesn't really live up to the hype.
That said, i think Government Hooker, Scheiße, Bloody Mary and Highway Unicorn are the best things that she has done in her entire career.. The trouble with GaGa is that she started out to be this fun popstar who made catchy tunes, unshamedly singing about sex and whatnot, and now suddenly she thinks of herself as the mother monster to all her gay babies out there. JUST NO. She may have copied everything from Madonna to Roisin, but the one thing she got wrong is that you don't force yourself as an icon on people. They will pick you as an icon if they feel you're worthy of it...

haahAHAHAHA i never heard THAT one before
nor "bored this way" NO NEVER
But seriously, yeah, you're right.

fun game I play all the time: try substituting into the lyrics any two syllable slur (there are a lot of good ones) for "baby" and see how the song changes.
if you need help picking a fun one: http://gyral.blackshell.com/names.html

anyone see her snl performance (calling it a song is a stretch)?

I read in one (positive) review that "Bad Kids" would be deliciously provocative if it were interpreted as her saying "faggots" over and over again
"You're a faggot, babyyy"
