but uh' drew roulette did the cover art for tiger & the duke's re-issue. there's a relation for ya.
This was directed at me a long time ago so i doubt you'll see this, but cool- thanks for pointing that out to me i didn't know that.
He performed a wedding for 2 people when I saw him in concert in Tempe, AZ. After google searching just now I believe I found a blog post from the husband about it:
"I have a feeling most people reading my blog with already know this, but it is probably worth mentioning again. Nicole and I were privileged to have our good friend Drew Roulette from one of our favorite bands, dredg, marry us onstage last summer in Arizona"
I got the setlist from that show and it says "Wedding" on part of it as if it was a track named wedding. It was pretty cool. I'd like to give that to the couple if I could find it now that I'm thinking about it. They'd probably appreciate it more than I would.

Gave this a proper listen. Given that I am, and always will be, 100% behind Leitmotif as their best album, and El Cielo being their worst, I have to admit that this is definitely a disappointment. It's worse than El Cielo. However, it's not dreadful. Someone else mentioned that it's got a few decent tracks, spread across a lot of possibilities. There are multiple directions that were abandoned.
I like that the band is experimenting. But I feel their efforts are a bit blind here, especially on haphazard ventures. It's a misguided attempt at crossing over into new wave genres and their off-shoots.
The only really memorable track to me was "Upon Returning" which I felt was the most dredg like song on the album.
In conclusion, El Cielo still sucks, Leitmotif is untouchable, CWA is good, Pariah is decent, and this is pretty atrocious. I won't be listening to it again.

Can't believe that the same band that brought us el cielo(which has it's flaws, but is still great) and some other ambitious albums has the guts to throw this bullshit at us.

this has kind of ruined el cielo/catch without arms for me because gavin's voice is in this and those. and now i get reminded of this

At this point, the only songs on here that i just flat-out don't like are Down Without a Fight and Sun Goes Down.
btw, the ratings chart for this over at RYM is way better than the one here. just sayin.

that's because we all exaggerate here. ratings aren't and shouldn't be a big deal.

people exaggerate like hell over there too, lol. if anything that site is worse, at least sputnik doesn't have an option to rate an album 0.5. that rating is abused so badly over there.

Album should be studied by fledgling governments as a model of how not to disintegrate.

Can a band release one of your all time favorite records then go on to release one of the worst records you have ever listened to? Apparently that is possible.
