I can see some of the newer users not knowing who he is, but anyone that has done ANY reading of old reviews has come across him at least 30 times.

Good riddance to this fucktard! If this review is anything like the hundreds of other reviews he's shit out, then its worthy of a big fat thumbs down.

I'm still wondering how in the hell this is even considered well written! He uses so many grammatical mistakes in the first paragraph that he makes kindergartners look like friggin college grads.

He is either messing around, or perhaps he has undergone some recent personal/psychological issues and this is some strange form of stress release . A farewell message? Damn. Deth was a great reviewer. I'm sorry to see him go. While I can see some people not liking this review, I feel a lot of you complaining are just butthurt Opeth fanboys. So he doesn't like your favorite band? GET THE FUCK OVER IT! Music is subjective, some people enjoy Miley Cyrus. Others don't. Don't get pissy if someone doesn't like what you like. I feel like he adequately showed why he didn't like the album, so it's not like he's bashing it. Anyways, R.I.P. Deth!

I love contrarian (is that even a word?) review, but it was pretty badly written.
And while I find it ironic that people criticize the "it's not metal so it sucks" approach of the review, that is basically what it is.

Yeah the grammar is terrible. Plus, if you just solely base your pos/neg on whether or not it was well-written, I could, by that logic, write a very well written review of the toilet I just took a dump in, post it as a review for this album, and you would pos it since it was well-written. Imo, you have to do more than just write well (which this review didn't do anyway) to get a pos.

This got like 18 pos's and 34 negs right?
That, I think, is a problem though. Had the album had the same terrible grammatical issues but praised the album, I bet the ratio would be closer to 3 pos: 1 neg instead of the 1:2 it is right now.

Like yeah, the grammar does suck, but there have been worse ones that got a better pos:neg ratio.

I think (as some people said before) some butthurt Opeth fans have a problem with one person calling the album a 1.5, and the reviewer did them a service by giving them a legitimate reason to neg it (even though that isn't inherently the reason why they neg'd it).
