I'm near from giving this a 4.5. Slainte Mhath is a great song indeed.

This is probably the most timeless Marillion record, but Fugazi is still my favorite.

The one that impress me the most (always in Fish era) has to be Misplaced Childhood. Second one would be Fugazi, both being relatively flawless. Not far behind, Script. I wish they had Ian Mosley on drums for that one. And now I'm trying to see if I can 4.5 Clutching at Straws. But I dunno, I feel like there are some filler songs.

@Titan, yes you're right about Slainte Mhath bass line. Sometimes he keeps it simple but he's so effective nonetheless.

@jethro nah no filler, I suppose some songs are less proggy than others but fishes lyrics/passion definetly brings emotion to all the songs.

I'll have to relisten at least once again to see if I can change my rating. Let say I could give it a 4.25 for now.

I could never get into Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood.

For me, the first 3 tracks on Misplaced Childhood are my least favorite on the album. Blind Curve is incredible.

Hard to decide between this, Misplaced and Script. I think I give Misplaced the edge for being a bit more poppy and accessible.

They're both about even for me, but I think I'd give this one a slight edge for the production value.

The guitar in the That Time Of The Night verse is so gentle and soothing.

I guess the keyboard on this is often 80's cheesy, but I don't care for some reason.

"Secondly, there are a few weaker tracks. That Time of Night and White Russian simply fail to grab me. "

Both songs are highlights, especially That Time of the Night.
