If you like no-nonsense rock with a bit (a tiny bit) of psychedelia thrown in, give it a burl.

One of the idiots on Rhapsody put this in the Experimental genre. That's almost as bad as when they put Modest Mouse in Emo.

This album reminds me so much of Zeppelin. Its like a new Zeppelin record, just five times worse.

I don't see waht's to LOVE about this band, there alright. But apparantly having your own sound is not important in music anymore. There songs could easily be mistaken as a Zeppelin tune or a Black Sabbath tune, and that is not meant in a good way.

And too bloody right. You know pop music is getting a bit long in the tooth, so obviously as the years wear on, bands are going to find it increasingly tough to carve their own sound. If you want originality, go back to where it all began and bang two sticks together, because every generation of musicians - from the melodically gifted Mozart to the balls-out rockers of ACDC - have always been ripping off every generation that ever preceded it.

My point? Who cares. Just tap your feet and get over it.

I never said you needed to have original music, I said your own sound. Oasis is a great band who rip off a few bands here and there, but they have their own sound, mainly due to the brothers voices. And I'm sure AC/DC ripped off bands that came before them but they stood out because of their lead singers voice and there energy.

Wolfmother is to Zeppelin, what Seether is to Nirvana. Does that explain my thoughts clearly? And that's not saying I don't enjoy listening to either of those bands, but there just never going to be considered classic, or one of the greats because they never found their own sound.

And what's with the lead singer not being able to admit that he takes influences from Black Sabbath and Zeppelin? He claims he's only listened to The Best Of Black Sabbath, and a few songs of Zeppelin.

I must say, Nick Greer, you are entierly wrong with your review.

First off, the only thing that they have in common with Jet is the fact that they both come from Australia. The two sound nothing alike. Wolfmother can be summed up more like 20% Led Zeppelin, 20% Black Sabbath, 20% Deep Purple (on their Machine Head album), 10% Doors, and 30% their own sound.

I may have given a bit too much credit with a rating of 5. Out of all of the songs on the album, i find that two of them aren't worth istening to that much. 'Apple Tree' is a little repetitive and 'Vagabond' is just annoying. Then you have the shorter songs that they made for the soul reason of releasing to the media like 'Woman' and 'Love Train'. After that, you have the stoner jams which are like 4 - 6 minutes long. You can really rock out to these songs, especially 'Colossal', 'Mind's Eye', 'Dimension', and 'The Joker and the Theif'.

For three guys in their late 20s who just mixed and matched themselves on the instruments with trial and error, this album turned out pretty good. Seeing them live is also something every rock fan should do. They put on a fucking awesome show.

I really dislike Wolfmother, and the whole revival genre in general. It's mostly just rehashed versions of classic rock, which sucks in the first place. I was never really into any Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath or anything like that. It's all pretty overrated and the fucking Led Zeppelin fan boys are annoying as shit.
