**Well, since you deleted your post on accident it looked like I was talking to myself and responding to things that didn't exist... so I deleted and reposted too, ha ha.**
I ordered it straight from the Author's website because that seemed to be the easiest way. It looks like it is distributed by almost entirely by various record labels. It may end up on Amazon after it has been released everywhere.
If you didn't know, this author also did a book in 2010 called "Mean Deviation Prog Metal History" that is pretty good. Here is the description:
"Mean Deviation: Four Decades of Progressive Heavy Metal is a non-fiction book written by former Metal Maniacs magazine editor Jeff Wagner. The book was illustrated by Voivod drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and has a foreword by Porcupine Tree frontman Steven Wilson."
Edit: Also looks like the European release date for the Fates book is 29 July.

Normally. I would recommend starting from No Exit and then listen every album Fates Warning released thereafter…
But this album stands on its own, and you don't have to listen every thing else, so go for it.
