Believe it or not the girl im marrying got my into Kreator, Sodom, etc. lol. I heard that France's black metal scene is pretty crazy, though i never got to check it out. Im pretty much listening to entry level stuff i guess haha. There is always a lot to discover out there. I might dig through some stuff this weekend.

The Name Blur Aud Nord just sounds awesome. Speaking of france, i need to re-listen to the Gojira records. I didn't get to spend much time with them.

Blut Aus Nord has a mostly consistent discography, but they have a few shitty albums. Avoid the two most recent albums and MoRT and you should be fine. The Work Which Transforms God is my favorite of theirs though. Definitely get on Peste Noire too. They haven't released a bad album.

Peste Noire added to list. Which albums would you recommend starting out with for Blut Aus Nord Besides The Work that Transformes God? Also which Deathspell albums are good to check out?

Get the past three Deathspell albums and also their Kenose and Drought EP's. I'd also say go with Memoria Vetusta I – Fathers of the Icy Age and Memoria Vetusta II – Dialogue with the Stars to start off with for Blut Aus Nord.

Yeah those should keep you occupied for a while. Once you get into those I'd say look into some Vlad Tepes and Mutiilation. Some more really good French black metal bands.

You'll discover a lot more great stuff after you go through the entry-level stuff. Make sure you also listen to those bands I posted in one of my comments towards the top of the page. All of them are top-notch groups.
