dude didn't even try on Way to blue, i think that's apparent



Fruit Tree and Three Hours are good but not as great as they probably should be, they kind of drag. Especially Fruit Tree, someone else singing that song would have made it way more emotionally resonate especially if they removed all that gloss cluttering the song.

'Cello Song and The Thoughts of Mary Jane are more beautiful than substantive.

Maybe you're right. I guess I just think this is almost too lush, too glossy for it's own good. It loses it's appeal on a lot of songs because of it. This is just a nice album. Maybe even a 3.5. But that's it. River Man is amazing though. Same with Man in a Shed.

bryter layter has a couple of truly classic songs meanwhile on this i don't think anything is really outstanding (except maybe river man or cello song but not really)
