it's a solid album. beats the crap out of the new one which felt less inspired. then again JEW has their formula down and a talent for knocking out great hooks, so even that album isn't bad.

Yeah Damage isn't a bad album but it didn't progress them as a band in any way, they usually like to try new styles and stuff and there was none of that on Damage

i think this band is best when they play music that is comfortable and natural for them. then again i don't think they can do the same thing again with damage. i'm hoping the next album brings back the rock like in futures.

If they keep doing the same thing it's gonna get boring real quick, I want more experimentation with the next album

i feel like clarity, bleed and futures were all slightly different variations on the same core sound and ideals. then chase this light was a deliberate attempt to make fun power pop, and invented was an experiment with an obscure concept... damage was back to straight-forward alt-rock with a heart just like those 3 albums i mentioned at the start.
