If you really want to rec her prog metal go with Dream Theater. Train of Thought is pretty heavy but there's no screaming, would be a good start.

Little late, but; yeah, "classic" really is a problematic wording for me. If it were changed, I'd have an easier time figuring out what I want to five. For now, I just go very literal about it.

I've already got this downloaded, so I'll probably listen to this tonight. But geez, aside from the self-titled, can this band make an album that's less than 65 minutes?

dream theater are the most inconsistent band ever but their 90's stuff rules (well most of it) and Images and Words is one of the most important and best progressive metal albums ever.
