Whenever the screaming vocals come in, the guitars die down a bit in volume, but the production is indeed exaggerated by critics. But I think the aspects of atru that bother haters of the album are the same aspects that people love about it.

I suppose, as far as I'm concerned the production is perfect for what it is though, if it were any clearer it just wouldn't fit as well

I actually find Downer's soundoff to really explain the album's nature the best, sadly.

why sadly!

8 songs of ridiculously charged emotion and passion blended into epic beauty and terrible ugliness to make the perfect amalgamation of the human experience known as life.

Adam Downer you might be the second best writer on Sputnik besides the deathless John Hanson

can someone post the lyrics for ritual of names plz they are all i need when deciding what to rate an album

"bring forth the light to raze colonies
in a single cleansing breath
don't sleep my queen the sun rises one less time than it will set
now overhead the stars that guided our forebears have turned to dust
and underfoot the churning framework of this earth succumbs to rust
bring forth the light
these footsteps take precedence as the traffic sounds fade
and this city's lungs has purged their last breath
I'm a captive of the curb before the wolves in wait
where i pledge myself to uncertainty
from this shattered breaking point
each new step must end
nothing short of the sadists that absorb ?
in search of that fleeting adversity of a merciless emptiness
that used to posess me

following stardust stardust
what's left of the twilight
to get to that last jagged line
to the edge of the earth by the date of my birth
after 26 years I'm reclaiming what's mine
take in the thinning air
part with a cleansing breath
take in the thinning air
part with a cleansing breath

colonies collapse under their own weight
drifting all across more dead deserts
dreaming the souls of the essence of our host
we post colonies overlooking the abyss
where we share the dream of the despondant?

On a ?
Spanning these vast spilled remains
Chasing visions, in a ritual of names
With no stars to follow
a jagged map etched in bone?
??
?? of overtone
Let the life-long procession of shadow ?
This is the start of something; here begins:
The end of the greatest lie
HENCEFORTH, I DENY THAT I EXIST"

as GREAT (!!!) as these lyrics are, do not decide what to rate the song solely on their basis. wait until you hear the br00tally majestic instrumentation and Drew's silky pig-fellating vocals before you rate it a 5, because only then can you understand how it should actually be a 5.5/5

no way jose! i actually fixed it up in a couple parts. the people who transcribed the lyrics were just fans on www.ctts.com so of course it's not perfect!

obviously you can already see nevertheless that it's a masterpiece!

people hate this album

the problem is that plenty of dickheads think that whatever category they don't fall into has ulterior motives or brainwashing behind their opinion.

I love how there isn't any middle ground with this album. It's either between a 1-2 or a 4.5-5

yeah anyone who thinks that the whole dicksucking groupthink on Sputnik has been exaggerated by its critics should read through the first 80 pages of that John Hanson review. anyone who says anything negative about the album gets viciously attacked
