yeah for real. after the two before it i had no expectations that a new album would be as good as their incredible older shit, but its right up there with it. unbelievable return to form. might actually be my favorite album of theirs but good mourning is neck and neck with it

Yeah, man. Usually, when bands like this go to shit, you never expect them to get good again. This was a unicorn-tier exception.

yeah i honestly feel like blink played a huge part in that. matts income has skyrocketed since joining blink, so trios now entirely a passion project which means he can just write whatever he wants and feels invested in instead of having to try and fail to musically copy their older material a la this addiction, an album that was marketed as a return to form but was literally just shit out because matt needed money after his divorce

also helps that dans been the one thing consistently good even across the lesser trio albums and derek lays down maybe his best drum performance on any trio album

The major labor debut adds some polish to the band's gritty sound. My god are the drums bad though.

Alright Storm, you were right. This is pretty sick. Thanks for encouraging me to give them a chance.

Yeah I've got S/T, Maybe I'll catch fire, and is this thing cursed? up for rotation next.

Don't know if I would care for the debut. It seems less polished, and with less direction from what I've read.

Debut is goat. Leas polished, definitely. Less direction... idk i don't see why that would have less direction than their other records. My only thought is it has an acoustic track kind of awkwardly shoved in the middle of the record. Thats really about it. All of the prolonged jam sections during a lot of the tracks are a big part of why I like the record, but I guess I could see someone calling that "less direction" maybe
