A better example could be Glassjaw's Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence.

MJ, just out of curiosity, are there any records in the extended "hardcore" family that you do like? I notice you have only really trashed heavy, screamy stuff so far.

Mike: thanks, I really appreciate the compliments along with the help you gave me... I haven't been perfectly consistent with the long-short-long formula, but it's something I keep in mind to help when my writing gets a little convoluted. And yes, haha, your application for staff was posted directly after my application for contrib, who knows... hopefully we'll both get lucky.

I'm actually still curious about sniper's question on the other page. Do you actually enjoy any hardcore/screamier bands? I feel like I'd be able to relate to you more if we had some common ground.

I have to put up with people like this every day.

Good for you if you've come up with some vague, irrelevant perspective of this album, and music in general.

But really, go and wank off to it in the privacy of your own home, because the world is littered with big-heads wandering about, spitting this sort of dribble at everyone. It's fucking lame.

This annoyed me because I know this album means something to a lot of people, not just me. And if a piece of music that happens to be loved by many isn't free from being shat on by people thinking they're king shit, then what the fuck is?

If you don't like the album, fair enough. But posting this here makes you an elitist twat.

I hear hundreds of people on Sputnik praising the shit out of this.

I hear MJ providing an interesting argument, that berates the album.

I hear much much more, "spitting this sort of dribble" in favor of this.

Agreed. This just got my goat because it isn't even an 'interesting' argument, it's weak as water.

People saying they love the album is hardly dribble, either. I'd be saying the same thing if this was a review of an album I hated.

Yeah but you were like all "I'm sick n tired of people coming round trying to be smart telling me this sucks with big heads and such!"

but I was like "yeah, but no one really decries this really, it's pretty universally accepted- which is why it's nice to hear a refreshing opinion, whatever it may be"

I don't know where all these other "big heads" littered throughout the world, wandering about are.

Dribble/drivel = rubbish that comes from the mouth.

Means the same. Well, it does around here, anyways.

Not to say it makes your opinions on this and CTTS any less valid, but it does make more sense you wouldn't appreciate them if it's not the kind of thing you're into.

.. Can I try and 'pass' it off like I meant for the dribble/Jordan connection?

God damn, maybe you are smarter. Maybe this album does suck!

Ahh, well so far it's looking like we'll never see eye to eye on music, but I still think we can be friends haha. How do you feel about bands like Radiohead and The Mars Volta?

*Prepares for angry rant*
